Public Notice

At approximately 7:15 PM on December 30, 2024, a motor vehicle accident occurred involving an apparatus from the Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Company. Engine 272 was enroute to a reported structure fire with emergency lights, sirens, and air horns activated when the driver was forced to take evasive action to prevent a potential collision with another vehicle. Although a collision occurred, the operator’s actions helped prevent a more serious outcome.

Fortunately, no individuals sustained life-threatening injuries. Four people, including one member of the Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Company, were transported to nearby hospitals for evaluation.

The Baltimore County Police Department is currently investigating the accident. No further details are available at this time.

Remembering Our Fallen

Today marks 40 years since the tragic fire at Shillers Furniture. We remember Firefighters Walter Bawroski, Henry Rayner Jr, and James Kimbel, all from Station 6, who lost their lives during the blaze. Jimmy was an also a member of our company at the time of the fire and was a great friend to many of our members. Their memories shall live on with us all and they won’t be forgotten.
